India lags behind Nepal and Pakistan in terms of mobile internet speed
The reality is different, even though Indian telecom companies are talking nonsense about Internet speed. Mobile internet is the cheapest mobile internet in India compared to the rest of the world, but the fact is that India ranks 131st in terms of mobile internet speed. In terms of mobile internet speed, Pakistan and Nepal are in a better position than India.
India ranks 131st in terms of mobile internet speed
According to a new Ookla report, India ranks 131st in terms of mobile internet speeds and 70th in terms of broadband internet speeds. The company has released this report for September 2020. According to the report, internet speeds in countries like South Korea, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Pakistan are better than in India.
Ookla reports that the average speed of mobile internet in India is 12.07Mbps. While this speed is 35.26Mbps globally. Not only downloading, the average uploading speed is 4.31Mbp in India, while this speed is 11.22Mbps globally.
Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka ahead of India
The charts released by Ookla have ratings of Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka at 102, 116 and 117, respectively. The average speed of mobile data in these three countries is 17Mbps. India ranks 131st in the same chart. The average speed of mobile data in China is 113.35Mbps. China ranks second in the world in this list. South Korea ranks first with a speed of 121Mbps.
India ranks 70th in broadband speeds
So when it comes to broadband, India ranks 70th in terms of speed. The average speed of broadband in India is 46.47Mbps. In terms of broadband speeds, Singapore ranks first with an average speed of 226.60Mbps, Hong Kong second with 210.73Mbps and Romania third with 193.47Mbp.
