Free mobile app Co-WIN to self-register for Covid-19 vaccine.

The Union Ministry of Health has developed Co-Win, an application for real-time monitoring of Kovid-19 vaccine delivery, data recording and enabling people to register themselves for vaccination.

Covexin and Covishield vaccine have been approved for immediate use by the Drug Control General of India (DCGI) in India. Covexin is developed by Bharat Biotech in collaboration with ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research) and NIV (National Institute of Virology). A vaccine called Kovishield has been developed by the Serum Institute of India in collaboration with Oxford University.

The largest vaccination program in the world

The biggest responsibility on the government is to make the vaccine reach everyone once permission is granted. At such a time an application called CO-WIN has been created by the government. Registration will be required to get the vaccine using this application. After registration, you will be informed via an SMS and after receiving the vaccine, you will also be given an e-certificate. This was earlier sought for collaboration by the IT Ministry to strengthen the CO-WIN platform.

What is the estimated cost of vaccine in India?

While registering in the application for the vaccine, one has to register separately for oneself, for another person or for collective use. The dose of the vaccine will then be provided by the government through home delivery or vaccination camps. The estimated cost of a single dose of Covishield vaccine will initially be Rs 200 for the government and Rs 1,000 for private use.

At a time when the COVID-19 situation is becoming worrisome around the world, India is witnessing a steady and steady decline in innovation. Speaking on the steps taken by the Central Government to roll out the Covid-19 vaccine, Mr. Bhushan said, Preliminary activities for roll-out of COVID-19 vaccine undertaken by the Central Government in collaboration with the States / UTs include:

A new digital platform for COVID 19 vaccination delivery called 'CO-WIN' is used for this purpose. This user friendly mobile application for recording vaccine data is acting as a beneficiary management platform with various modules. In the process of creating a database of state-of-the-art healthcare workers in all the States / UTs, the data is currently being uploaded on the Co-Win platform.

Line-list of priority population groups for COVID 19 vaccination. Every Indian who needs to be vaccinated will be vaccinated. Priority population groups include about 10 million health workers in government and private healthcare facilities, about 20 million frontline workers (state and central police personnel, armed forces, home guards, civil defense organizations, disaster management volunteers and about 27 million municipal employees) and People, including people over the age of 50 and people with co-morbidities.
